Bisonhome

Some things just feel right in the hand. Bison has been making those things since 1997, when Brian Tunks started shaping ceramics in Canberra — an archaeologist by training, with years spent on digs in the Middle East and a quiet obsession with old forms and pure colour.

That history runs through everything. The simple lines. The colours that feel like they've always existed. Pieces made to be used every day and kept for years, not replaced.

Over more than two decades Bison has grown from ceramics into a fuller collection, but the heart of it hasn't moved. It's still about objects with soul — things that earn their place on your table.

The cut glass

Brian's cut glass is the part we keep coming back to. Vases, vessels and carafes in deep jewel tones, the colour catching the light and doing all the talking. Designed in Canberra, made by hands that know what they're doing. Each one a little different, which is rather the point.handheld styles for tight corners, rugs and outdoor furniture.
